Visual Feast

We the 'Namgis originate from the river Gwa'ni (Nimpkish River). Our origin story tells of 'Namxxelagayu, a halibut like monster, who carried our first ancestor 'Namgwis to the bottom of the ocean during the Great Flood. 'Namgwis returned to the river creating a new beginning for our people.

We take pride in sharing and incorporating our traditions into the contemporary world.

The stylized face in the Culture Shock logo was inspired by a petroglyph (rock carving) at the Gwa'ni River. Our logo defines who we are by connecting our vision for the Culture Shock Gallery with our roots.

From our gallery windows and sundeck, come begin your journey into the Visual Feast that is our world.
